You applied to 20 schools? WHY
There is a very recent DCUM thread on applying to more than 20 schools.
Anonymous wrote:Just curious. My kid did restrictive early action (not an Ivy) and there was only one other school he liked/applied to that was public EA (but they don't announce until February). It was definitely the right strategy for him. He applied to 17 schools with a good mix of (safety, target and reach). They all only had ED, or EDI/EDII and his top choices weren't any that offered EDII.
It just feels weird to hear everyone talking about all these acceptances and he literally has no clue. He could care less though. He is a 35ACT/4.0uw/4.4w at a private so he will get in somewhere, but it feels really weird to not know until mid-late March.

Why do you care?
Anonymous wrote:When my DD applied couple years ago she got a couple early acceptances to safeties but held out for an RD from a college that doesn’t announce until March 31- which is very very late for college decisions. When everyone was announcing where they were going in March that year my DD was still in the hoping and praying stage. It worked out for her in the end. Just stick with your timeline OP, keep an eye on Your Kids decision dates and no one else’s, tell your kid what to expect between now and April meaning other kids will celebrate around them and that’s fine.

Anonymous wrote:I feel you OP. Prior recent year, mine struck out in ED, but at the end of RD had 4 offers, three with merit, 5 WL, three of which came through, and one of those with merit, which was surprising (and happily accepted). So in the end 7 great private schools to choose from and really liked all of them.
Hang in there.

Not PP but Virginia state schools were free to apply to the third week in October so my son applied to all of them except for the black ones.
The proper term is HBCU.
