I just came back from driving - MoCo roads are simply terrible right now. Can't see anything, completely snow covered, and a lot of idiots speeding. Tomorrow morning will be a mess

Hmmm, its actually a big ski weekend any many are commuting home from PA, MD, etc. along with college kids returning to school.


My kid is going to miss her first class tomorrow because she was worried about driving in the snow. Emailed her professor and is hoping to be excused.

Should we take our sacrificial lamb/ burnt offerings back from the Snow Gods ? Or will this make things worse?

Yes they were sprayed yesterday and now its all washed away!

4:00 pm snow update: Can already feel effect of sun setting--roads turning snowier.
Steadier snow developing into evening. Could be 0.5 inch per hour or so for several hours later. Consider postponing travel if possible.

Passenger in a car in Fairfax right now the roads are not "just wet" they're accumulating snow and ice and it's worse than we thought they were. I thought they sprayed but it's cold and things are indeed sticking. If you have not gone don't stay home. We are driving very slow and careful and just slid on a main road. I thought it was better than this I would not have gone out. Just fyi.

just got back from WV. Got out of the mountains where it was snowing and it was clear for a bit (around noon) until we got to 81 and 66, and it snowed the whole way back to DC on 66. Road was clear though, despite 28 degree temps, but not sure how long before it starts to slush up.

We decided to leave at 7 am tomorrow to get there in time for a noon class. Hope with other school closures, traffic will be light and 81 will be clear.
