Can I set up protective orders? Or do I have to wait until divorce is finalized to get child support and alimony?
Alimony, yes. Child support, no:

Custody can also be secured outside of a divorce. You'll want to go to the self-help part of the family services division in your county:

Protective orders are usually for violence, harassment, credible threats. Obviously, a spouse with an addiction issue is a credible threat to your household's stability, but that's not how protective orders work.

Be careful about draining accounts. Be careful about taking advice from an anon board. Definitely speak with an attorney (or several) to discuss your options.
