I think that they inferred that Oliver spiked the bottle with a party drug, that way the coroner would have judged it as an accidental overdose and not murder by poisoning. The police wouldn’t really suspect anything different since it was at a big party of mainly college kids.

That’s why the elder Cattons cut off Farleigh after they found out that he had drugs, they probably though that he and Felix where using together at the party.

Started out great, didn't love the last third and end. Great sets, clothes. I thought all the actors were great, especially the three young male actors and Rosamund Pike was a hoot. Batty Keoghan was superb, I thought, a quiet performance that was mostly in his facial expressions and movements. I couldn't suspend disbelief at the end though, even the part where he removed her breathing tube. I mean, what happens next with her doctor? Were we supposed to believe he inherits? I don't think so. Anyway, it was better than I expected but yes, I give it a B too

I enjoyed it until the ending. I expected there to be more complexity or intrigue to the plot. Ultimately there was nothing.

But I think it did a good job at building the suspense.

100% agree with OP’s summary. This movie really sucked.

I agree with the summary, it was trashy and derivative. But it was also fairly entertaining. So I give it a “B”.

I didn't like it and I'm not a prudish person. I thought the best part of the film was the ending.

Just watched it and agree. There was virtually no additional plot or character development value to those graphic scenes (and others like him pulling up nightgown and mounting the dying Elsbeth)...None. A talented screenwriter/director could have figured out ways to build on Oliver's character without resorting to cheap, distasteful scenes like these.
