Christmas Eve is the traditional prime rib roast meal with yorkshire pudding, plum pudding and oyster soup. A menu set in stone since time immemorial. It's a formal meal. Silver, china, the works.

Christmas Day is relaxed and varies. Panettone or other sweet rolls and quiche for a late breakfast while opening gifts. If weather cooperates we take a long hike and this year we went cycling. For dinner we had spinach lasagna.

Breakfast

Eve! We do a huge fancy seafood and pasta feast, and then I chill in my PJs all day on Christmas. For Christmas dinner we do something easy like a pork roast or tenderloin and some basic sides like mashed potatoes and salad.

Depends on when my kids work. Two of them have jobs that don’t have holidays off or have to work really early on the 26th. Crazy part is they don’t know in advance. I didn’t have one of their schedules until Friday afternoon. This year dinner was yesterday. Today we’ll have presents and brunch.

I’m French Canadian, and my husband is German, so we always do a special dinner on Christmas Eve (we also open presents), but we also do something on Christmas Day.

Depending on what we have going on, Christmas Eve may not be a formal sit down, but there are always “fancy” selections as it’s Réveillon.

Christmas Day lunch usually with traditional menu similar to Thanksgiving.

Christmas Day is the nice prime rib dinner. Christmas Eve we always order Chinese and eat it in the living room by the tree watching Christmas movies! My favorite tradition.
