Some people absolutely could not carry on a conversation if they couldn’t include some version of the world “colonize”. Might want to read some history about how every civilization in the world was formed.

to OP, please stop these threads. You've started a number of them "are Spaniards people of color" etc. just within the last two days. YOu are trying to create a problem for some personal reason you have

This is one of the craziest threads I’ve seen here. Europeans—including Spanish, Portuguese, and Italians—are all considered white in 2023. This despite their often very dark skin and hair. This despite certain groups (especially Italians) being considered non-white as immigrants in the US a century or so ago. Oppression seems to matter in whether groups are considered POC. So middle eastern Muslims, long thought of as white, are increasingly being considered POC. Italians, with dark hair and dark skin (you should see my cousins!), are white.

Race is a social construct.

Really? He looks white to me!

He is darker than Kamala Harris, how in the world he is white?

Because Kamala is of African and North Indian descent and he is of European ancestry so whiter than kamala

Kamala is also a direct descendant of slave owners; not the case with Ronaldo as far as we know.

Wait - descendant of slave owners??!?

This POC fettish has become a true POS.

Time to stop the nonsense. People are people, not skin carriers.

Yes, but plenty of programs (educational, business contracts, scholarships) set aside for POC so it's important to know who is POC or not.

Maybe we should use color meters to determine POC or not?

Finally a productive use of AI!

Everyone should get assigned a color skin metric at birth, and that number be used everywhere to fairly promote kindness, diversity and inclusion in our society.

Plenty of POCs are not the direct descendant of slave owners. That's not a requirement to be POC.

Whether they were racist has nothing to do with if they are POC. POCs can be racist.

They're not poc. I believe they're racist though.

It's more colorist than racist. [/quote

So they prefer lighter skin tones over darker?
