About 180,000 people die of COVID per year (at the current rate) that is 3% of people that get COVID.
Where are you getting 180,000 from? We leveled off around 1,000 covid deaths per week. That's roughly the same as a bad flu year.

My parent recently died of covid, but they had multiple boosters, including one recently.
I’m sorry for your loss. Do you mind sharing how old they were?
They were older, and had covid a few times so it was surprising covid did them in. I'm not doing any more boosters. They aren't stopping transmission.
Yes, it is always shocking when old people die. You're supposed to live forever as long as you don't do anything wrong.

I get the flu shot because I don’t experience any side effects whatsoever.

What about when you catch it once the vaccine wears off in a few months? There’s no avoiding COVID exposure unless you want to pharmacy hop for boosters. COVID is part of the environment now, like the flu, RSV, and every other illness. That’s just reality.

It’s no different than the flu vaccine. You get it every year.

I'm assuming, based on the fact that it seems like half the people I know have had covid already this fall, there's lots of others in my situation.
Kind of pointless to get it now.

Anonymous wrote:I wanted it earlier and was almost impossible to get an appointment, and my doctor didn't have any. Practice just announced they have vaccines this week.
Flu and Covid vaccines usually take me down for about 48 hours, so I also have to plan. Will probably get the Covid vaccine next week and the flu vaccine a few weeks later.
They really messed up not making money available for county / city / state vaccine clinics for states that wanted them. I find that to be so much easier than messing around with pharmacy appointment scheduling.
