Who else is complaining about Loudoun soccer getting field space?

Especially to deal with the parents on this forum.

Word. Parents complaining that Loudoun coaches are getting paid and that the county isn’t charging them market rates for the fields are insufferable. While a bunch of rich millionaire aholes are complaining bc their gym isn’t making as much money as they want.

Where has it been stated that the STJ owners are complaining? Sounds like you are the a-hole.

Great to see people standing up for the $100m gym owners and complaining about the non-profit.

The “non-profit” that charges more and gets, essentially, free field space. The non-profit whose revenue grew from $2.2M in 2010 to $7.4M in 2019 and assets grew from $682K in 2010 to $7.8M in 2019. Being a non-profit is a much easier business model for a youth sports club.

Non-profit does NOT mean there are no profits. It's a business entity and still operates as a business.

People are all up in arms about a lot of rumors. Meanwhile US Club Soccer operates as a non profit and on their 990 actually shows they send a sizeable percentage of their budget to a private equity company that employs ECNL leadership. Nobody seems to question that.

BP’s wife no longer at GMU. Single income as full time youth soccer coach is a tough play for this area. He should / could have been running Loudoun soccer proper if he wasn’t such a douche. Now working for a PE with no equity…

That’s what I heard too. 09 ECNL girls need a coach.

That rumor ended up being just a rumor. He is still at NVA and coaching the 09s with no plans to move.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I hear lots of money has started flowing to Loudoun/NVA coaches. Interesting to say the least.

Must be nice for a non-profit to just throw money at employees.....

Lots of promotions too!

I rather have money go to employees at a non-profit than what’s going on at FCV which is a for profit private equity owned club where money is flowing to investors so they can build up their gym and market gym memberships

Is that why fcv created fcv south? I guess families in Loudoun don’t want a gym membership in Springfield. Makes sense to support the gym but no sporting sense as players will be hard pressed to level up from Springfield to GA in Loudoun

Nobody is talking about FCV.

Why is there more money flowing at NVA/Loudoun?

These big clubs - like Loudoun - are essentially subsidized by the taxpayers, given their tax status and the fact that they are being handed taxpayer funded public field space for peanuts. It’s too bad the county doesn’t make them pay market rates - or least near market rates - for space if it’s clear they are raking in cash.

It’s because they are providing a community service for the taxpayers. Almost every municipality in the country does this. Very different model than a private equity company trying to sell gym memberships for 30% returns to high net worth and institutional investors, which is why the county won’t give the same rates to FCV.

So FCV must charge much more in fees…right? But they don’t.

Because they run lean and keep their costs down. That’s why they keep complaining about how many Loudoun coaches there are and how well paid they are.

Again - this thread is about NVA, not FCV. A poster said they are paying a lot more $$$ now. Any idea why?
