Aruba at the Marriott Vacation Club, Hilton, or Hyatt. I forget which but they all have calm water and great pools.

Large water slides out of the question. Comes with a 3yo brother who is actually very adventurous but barred due to his age from most activities other than playing in the sand and splashing in the water. Willing to pay $25-30k for a one week getaway, but don’t want to overspend on a fancy resort if we won’t use all the amenities like waterslides etc. Also, DH are not big eaters or drinkers so all-inclusive would probably be wasted on us.
25 - 30k for one week, but don’t want to “overspend.” With your limited budget, you may want to look at a Holiday Inn.

Even if you went to a resort with all the bells and whistles, you don’t have to go on a water slide or drink a boozy drink. Do the activities that work for your family and avoid the others.
