You can get a ham at Costco or the grocery store. It requires no prep.

It’s not so hard pp. it’s a pretty straightforward process and ham is very forgiving as long as op doesn’t dry it out.

I knew this snarky response would be coming sooner rather than later. Are you telling me that when you host for Thanksgiving or when you’re invited elsewhere you neither ask nor are asked the question “is there anything special that you like on Thanksgiving?” Or in your world is it “look, if you’re coming to my house just STFU and eat what I serve and like it!”

NP, but - no, when I'm hosting (Thanksgiving or otherwise) I don't ask if there's anything people want specifically, and I've never been asked. If it's someone I haven't hosted before, I would ask about allergies/restrictions. But other than that, I'm the host, I'm a menu planner and cook, and I'd expect people (especially adults) to be polite and eat what is served or at least not make a fuss about it.

*a good menu planner and cook

Costco hams are good and so much less expensive than Honey Baked.

Pick out a small one and you can use the leftovers after in soups, pasta dishes, etc.

The surest sign that very few people really love turkey is that no one makes it any time other than Thanksgiving.

I don't cook turkey often because it's hard to find a small turkey, and while my family might like eating turkey for 1 or 2 nights, we don't want to eat it for a week. So it's a make-it-for-a-crowd food, not a family-dinner food.
