My dh is very healthy (not scrawny) and muscular, 6'2 165lbs. He wears mediums. He typically orders a large though in jackets because otherwise the sleeves aren't long enough.

Disagree! I like to wear it for WFH. It's a way to be casual but work-appropriate. But I've been pretty happy with the quality of stuff we get and we select the size so it's not usually random.

It reminds me of the CapOne interns getting on the Metro in their branded backpacks every summer. I especially enjoy the ones who wear the branded jackets in 95 degree heat just in case someone missed the CapOne backpack. They never take them off, either!

Yes this is who mediums are designed for these days. Go to any men’s clothing website, look at some tops, and the caption on the photos will say something like “Damian is 6’2” and is wearing size medium.” I have no clue how we got to the point where tall people are size medium.

In men's shirt sizing, it isn't about height but rather how solid they are. Mt BIL is 5 ft 7 and probably 190 and he wears a large. My DH is 6 ft even and 170 and he wears a medium.

OP I hate that. I do wear the logo stuff and this used to happen all the time. Sure I have a small waist but my girls are 32GG. They don't fit into a woman's cut ever. We only have 50 people so it wasn't hard to coordinate but fail they did. Finally we got an admin who does the ordering. No t-shirts! Knows that some women can't do a womens cut and great range of sizes. Sorry that happened to you.

I’m a male, 5’9”, 140 lbs (no fat), age 38. I wear a men’s small. I used to be a medium long ago but vanity sizing changed that.

It's a 40 person company. It's not that hard to either (1) ask or (2) look around and see they have someone who is 4'11" or someone who is 6'2". That is a pretty restrictive size range. I was too tall to wear a Men's large when I was in middle school.

It was totally thoughtless by the company. Either the person who did the ordering didn't care, or didn't give any thought to it. Either way, the adult way to handle it would be to tell the person in charge that you are disappointed not to have been able to get a jacket because they didn't order one that fits you. Maybe they'll do better next time.

What bothers me about this is that Patagonia is trying to push its sustainability messaging, but will still offer logo-embroidering. Making clothing for “as long as you work here/as long as we have this logo” is not sustainable.

And I’m sorry they didn’t have your size OP. Ask if you can buy the item in your size and expense it (and then “forget” to have the logo sewn on).
