This is confusing bc another poster said they don’t take used pillows. Which is it?
What would an animal shelter do with an old pillow?
No they don’t. I volunteered at one up until last December and we DO NOT WANT THEM. Yuck.
They just ended up in the trash. Please stop this mindset in thinking charities want your trash. We don’t.
At the shelter I volunteered with...it would be used in a cage (as long as it was not a feather pillow...that would tossed). They took stuffed animals too! I would just call as there are clearly different policies. I doubt any will lie and have you bring it in just to toss it.

Do not do that.
You should wash regularly pillow’s every so often. Who are these people who don’t.
Target sells pillows for $3. Why go through the hassle and waste of washing and drying pillows, just for them to end up flat and lumpy anyway, when you can just toss them and easily purchase fresh new ones?
You buy new pillows every month or two? If so, that’s so wasteful. If not, yeah, you’re supposed to be tumbling dry on hot to kill dust mites at least once a month, and washing and drying every 2-3 months.
Nope not doing all of that. You’re wasteful by using all that electricity, water and energy to wash a bunch of nasty old flat pillows.
My family happily enjoys out fresh fluffy pillows when it’s time, and it doesn’t break the bank.

Please keep up with the thread. The animal shelter people are saying No, do not give them your filthy old pillows .
Mine does want them. That's why I posted that I donate to them. Please keep up with the thread.
They’re very nicely telling you want you want to hear so you can virtue signal to your friends later. Don’t wash them, THROW THEM AWAY!
