Vast majority of people who do what Mosley did on her forms get away with it. That’s most people who bought homes to rent out on AirBnb. But they don’t get caught because there’s no one to crack down on it.

So yeah, she broke the law. But she’s was also targeted for special scrutiny by law enforcement.

She’s a perfect example of virtue signaling gone wrong. Being anti police as a prosecutor and getting national attention and paid speaking engagements for it is a bad precedent to set for prosecutors. Careerist district attorney bashing police just doesn’t look good hence she became a target. If she were smart, she’d have stopped but the money and newfound fame from CNN gigs was too irresistible . The general public doesn’t know any DA as a household name. She became addicted to the burgeoning fame and BLM clout and forgot she was supposed to be supporting police officers and protecting the city as a DA.

I liked some of her ideas though and she did bring reform to Baltimore even if it made the police look bad .

She’s the daughter of two police officers and went after the police very hard.

I think that’s where her troubles began. She wanted to play to the activists during the Freddie Gray incident and she overcharged the police to prove a point. A huge no , no for a prosecutor.

I think she committed career suicide by playing to activists.

She actually had some great ideas as a prosecutor and reformed the Baltimore office pretty well . The first time non violent offender work training program helped reduce crime in Baltimore, and she went hard after sexual offenders which I supported .

I don’t think using mortgage fraud and using COVID 19 act to get her per soon earlier is worth jail time. Lots of people commit mortgage fraud by lying on mortgage applications and commit COVID fraud and aren’t getting charged. This was a hit job against Marilyn.

The city of Baltimore was burning due to rioting after Freddie Gray died so I can’t say I blame her for overcharging the officers to get the city to calm down. She knew the officers would get acquitted. I agree with Alan Dershowitz that she did that to satisfy the community .

Sure. If you want to be in the public eye you should expect that level of scrutiny. Similarly Trump probably wouldn’t be facing a fraud trial in NY right now if he wasn’t President. As with anyone though, if you don’t want to do the time then don’t do the crime.

As for Mosby, she most certainly is going to prison. I’d guess a sentence less than 3 years and probably serves only 12 months.

I think in her case she was shady long before this, and this is what they were able to prosecute on. As someone said above, there was always a shadow looming over her.
