Article says 30 years

Do you have a reading problem?
all but 12 months suspended means the entire 30 year sentence is suspended. She is only serving one year.

What’s the purpose of sentencing for 30 years only to suspend all but one year?

If they reoffend, the suspension can be canceled

And her attorney was a former judge who resigned in disgrace after an ongoing affair with a criminal defendant (and her former client) decades her junior came to light. Birds of a feather…..

Dear MVMS Community, Staff, and Families,

Today, an article was published that included information about a former MCPS teacher, who was arrested today, following accusations of sexual abuse of a student during their employment at Montgomery Village.

I’m sharing this information with our community because I want to be clear that the accused teacher is NOT a current member of our staff and was last employed here over eight years ago.
Although this teacher is not a current employee, any news about the abuse of students is upsetting.

As always, we will offer support to any student or staff member impacted by this information.

Wow. What an attempt to deflect that the sexual abuse occurred inside the school! Parents should be concerned because MCPS doesn’t keep children safe while they are at school. Nothing has changed in 8 years that would prevent teachers from being alone in classrooms, hence have the access they need to groom and sexually abuse children.

The same principal also sent out a strange email and text to parents about an art teacher who is no longer employed by MCPS. Really bizarre. Still waiting on something to come out about the male art teacher.

Why throw your life away to get with a child, when you can have your pick of adult men who would spoil you for the privilege? Do they think the boys are more innocent than evil men?

That's not how pedophiles think.

A bond is not a penalty. It's risk assessment vs. possibility of flight or additional harm.

More details about the pedophile have emerged. She's apparently currently a teacher at a charter school in PG county, and she had sex with the male student on school grounds and she plied him with marijuana and alcohol: https://moco360.media/2023/11/08/former-mcps-teacher-who-allegedly-sexually-abused-student-now-teaches-at-private-school/

The incidents took place in Montgomery County, occurring in Curtis’ car, at their residences and inside the school, including in a classroom, charging documents alleged.

The victim alleged that before one of the instances, Curtis provided him with alcohol and marijuana, charging documents said.

Curtis taught in MCPS for around two years, also teaching at Lakelands Park Middle School in Gaithersburg, according to police.

All dogs of a different canine. When will the madness end? Bieldlemann has the county by the proverbial balls and no one is willing to call a "spade a spade". Shame on you MoCo

All of this happened before Dr. McKnight was the superintendent so I don’t know why anyone is even talking about it.

Who is McKnight?

No MCPS superintendent now. No one speaking out to defend children. No press conference to support victims or pledge safe schools. No one to encourage reporting. No leadership whatsoever.

Why should she apologize for something that happened when she wasn’t superintendent?
