No comments were cruel. The absolute only way to lose weight like this is to get real with what you did to gain it. Nobody said she needed to beat herself up or go self flagellate in a closet but this “it just happened TO me” approach will NOT help someone make the changes they need to undo weight gain. 30 lbs of belly fat won’t just fall off. If it’s meds, change the meds. If it’s lack of movement and overeating, move more and eat better and less. Saying “Covid just put 30 lbs on me” means that 30 lbs is not only staying, she will keep gaining. It isn’t cruel to point this out- adjusting her mental perspective first is the only thing that’s going to change her physical state.

Assuming you were relieved of your commute, you had time to take the dog for a walk, as well as plan your dinner menus. I honestly want to know how your day-to-day life impacted you this much?
I went on Lexapro and my mother died. Thank you for the judgment.
Did lexapro shovel the food in your face?
Wow! My sister also gained weight on lexipro. It's like her choice was have panic attacks 24/7 or take this pill, be calmer and gain 25lbs in 4 months. The weight remained with her long after she stopped the lexipro. Until you've been there, you need hold judgement and listen to what people are telling you. Try to feel some empathy for them and gratitude that you haven't suffered in that way (so far).
I’m on lexapro. Try again. And put the fork down while you’re at it.
Interestingly, I opted to white knuckle it theough anxiety and ended up losing 15 lbs in a month. I could say sonething about you not being able to handle life without pharmceutical assistance, but I won't go there. My anxiety passed, I regained the weight lost and I feel stronger for having survived it on my own.
I'm so sorry you were so needlessly hard on yourself to the point of weight loss.

I was tested for diabetes (neg) and given an ultrasound for fibroids (neg).
Basic diagnosis is you gained weight and it's pushing on stuff.
Any idea what I can do to help -- as I attempt to shed this midriff fat?
