We had waves of kids from 4:30 (the tiny ones) then many more 6-7:45. We ran out of candy and had bought a ton. It was quieter though. Usually we run out way earlier and have to get more. The sidewalk had room this year. 22206

Why?

My guess would be that it’s cold but I assume you mean something else?

Yeah, why? We’re in the Alexandria part of Fairfax County and things were jumping.

Kids were out in our neighborhood but not as many as last year. Last year our streets were filled with people driving in just to trick or treat. This year, seemingly none of that. I assume it was the cold. It was freezing out. We started at 6p and were done by 7:30p.

Last year I ran out of candy by 8. This year I had a lot of candy left when I turned out the lights at 9. Similar amount of candy purchased both years.

Capitol Hill was packed as always. We went through 4 giant Costco bags of candy.

Ours was quiet. We had a brief surge around 7pm, maybe 15 kids, but otherwise almost no one.
