+1 i went through a lengthy casting process for RHOP bevause I own a bar but utimately it wasn't a good fit because on my end, the exposure wasn't worth it to me, and the producers figured of that I was very good at holding my liquor and its less fun when someone isn't tipsy tee hee

I was 1-2 degrees of separation from 4 of original RHOP. 3 of them definitely were attention seeking fame chasers and 1 was a pretty private person so who knows why she did it.

Exactly the same for Lisa Rhinna. She was basically a washed up soap star but now is everywhere.

This is true of the only person I know who was on one of these shows. I would believe that many are faking it financially, but this person was not. It really was just the need for attention.

Also, to be fair, I think a few (not many, but a few) do it because they want to be representative.
Tiffany the Dr that was on the Dallas franchise - she was the first Asian HW.
Eboni who did a turn as the first black HW on NYC - she tried to do quite a bit of cultural education on her stint.
Even Aviva - who had the missing leg on NYC, and I believe it was Heather on NYC who had a deaf son?
And there was a woman on BH or OC - can't remember her name, she didn't last long - but I believe she was Armenian? And quite vocal about that, and wanting to showcase their culture.

Fame. But also for a lot of them…money. Many are basically broke. Like RHOP gizelle, Wendy, and Mia all seem middle class and Robyn seems legit broke.

Ha! I do as well.
Luckily for me, I couldn't care less what you think of me. I'm well educated, I have a great career, tons of friends, wonderful marriage, fantastic kids, and a very full life. But I also sometimes like zoning out and watching some of these shows (I don't like all the franchises nor all the people, I only watch three of them).
I met one of the Real Housewives in real life once (our daughters were participating in the same activity) and she was exactly what I'd thought she be. She wasn't one of the super crazy ones but she was polite (as was her husband, who was there as well), kind, and funny. Even when they act like clowns, they are real people.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy whatever you watch for fun!

Personally, I feel like it would help me launch as an influencer.
It is external validation that you've made it and large numbers of people envy you.
Why do they say "housewives" since most of the people featured are working or are at least making $$ in various ways.
I'd love to see a few real DC law partners and maybe something like an established professor on the show. They'd be amazing speaking candidly after a few drinks.

That’s a lot of drinking…not typical of real life.
The drinking is unbelievable! I think quite a few are alcoholics, and stay with the shows as part of their addiction.
