Never tired it because it looks so strange.

I've had it exactly once. The tea I had (Passion Fruit & Pineapple Jasmine Green Tea) tasted great, but the "original" boba (brown sugar I think) I could not stomach. Mostly a texture thing, but ew. I wanted the pineapple popping boba, but they were out. I may try it again in the spring.

It's been a very popular drink since 1980.

who cares? so has opium. Bubble tea is full of sugar

You’re aware that most bubble tea places offer you the option of zero sugar, or 30%, 50%, 75% or 100% sugar…?

So what, even without sugar you’re consuming a ton of tapioca balls, which are huge amounts of carbs. It’s still loaded with cream too. It’s just melted ice cream, basically whether you add sugar or not.

I don’t think you’ve ever been to a bubble tea place. I don’t get bubble tea with cream and there are so many various types. You also don’t need to get tapioca … so many options. Also someone here seems to have some unresolved issues with food if you think carbs, cream, sugar, are the devil. Same with ice cream. People are allowed to treat themselves without the food police reporting for duty. I hope you don’t have kids.

You’re a moron.

Nothing like someone with a full blown case of severe Dunning Kruger’s telling someone they shouldn’t have kids.

Bubble teas almost universally use cream, if not, they’ll use crap like condensed milk of coconut milk, which are still sugar and fat laden bombs.

It’s a treat. No has it as health drink. Do you ever treat yourself to anything that has fat or sugar?

Matcha with bubbles but no sugar added. And only certain places.

I remember having it for the first time in Wheaton Mall in 2006...

I love it! I love the chewy tapioca. I rarely get flavors though - usually just get plain black tea with boba, 50% sweet. Sometimes I'll get milk black tea or taro.

I love it and enjoy the tapioca pearls when they are fresh. If they are hard that means they are old. I don't drink it often though because it is pretty calorie dense. We dink it a lot when we go to Taiwan because it is sold on every corner and a lot less expensive.

No. The texture is such a no-go for me.
