Hate this. I listened to his memoir recently. He was a pretty hard core addict, but the book left you feeling optimistic that he would never stop trying to recover. His description of the physical toll it took on his body was intense. I’m sure his health was fragile at this point even if he wasn’t using. So sad.

The Batman signal is a sign of distress? Was Perry sending signs of distress with those Batman wing signals on Instagram?

Very disturbing.

May he rest in peace.

Can't be in a pool of water if you are drunk or sleepy.
Hot water will make you more sleepy. I never understand why people sit in a hot tub drinking alcohol.

He had a solid relationship with his parents as an older adult, and has a bunch of step siblings, plus a lot of very good, long-time friends. His world was not dark or lonely.

You clearly don’t know his whole story. He’s been in recovery for a while and even turned his Malibu home into a sober living house for other addicts. He was very involved in the recovery community and was an inspiration to others. He’d shared his dark times with the whole world as a gift to help others struggling with addiction know that they are not alone. He was admired by colleagues and beloved by family, friends and fans. That’s hardly a dark and lonely world.

Yes! This! I even remember this from my teenager lifeguarding days. It puts stress on the circulatory system. It is also why smaller bodies (children or just petite people) and the elderly are not supposed to go in hot tubs.

(Plus, they are just gross. The heat does not kill the germs. All the bubbles along the edge are frothy skin cell detritus. You are welcome for this PSA.)
