I wondered about that too. If you are on medical leave, stay on medical leave. For her own sake, she needs to unplug.

The pastors prayed over her. She is all better.

Beyond unnecessary. What the hell.

Why is prayer unneccesary?

It's not the prayer. It's the fact that the person who made the original comment about the pastors was being cheek-in-tongue. The Black pastors supporting her is a common theme to detract her on this forum.

She’s in charge of the schools and responsible for everything so it makes sense that her mismanagement is going to come up in most contexts.

OK, let's bash her in the Woodward thread, the Poms thread, the 8th grade algebra thread, and so forth.

This is what it means to be in charge. People will criticize you if they don’t like things because being in charge means that you are ultimately responsible.

Every super in MCPS gets bashed until they've been gone for several years. Then it was the good ole days!

Yeah she thinks that asking teachers to refrain from emails “after 6pm”
Thing is that most teachers duty day ends at 3. Soooo this means nothing and is kind of insulting.

Please keep in mind, many people are concerned about what MCPS does / does not do to ensure the safety of staff and students. The superintendent is ultimately responsible for this. This includes how an investigation is conducted, and actions that are taken as a result of the investigation.

If she's dealing with a private matter, she has my sympathy... but not announcing it seems fishy.

It won't be in MCPS's "Things to Know" email blast, that's for sure.

Wow! You're late to the party staff was notified last week and it isn't a secret

I'm not staff. I'm a parent and I was not notified of anything.

The superintendent is on sick leave. There is no need for a press release.

Crazy timing though. People are going to suspect the worst based on the MCPS track record. I can't say I blame them.

You mean cheer for the worst? Come on, let's be better than this people.

The Supt. committed to developing and implementing a plan. If the Supt. is out for an indefinite period, it raises obvious concerns about this commitment.

Which is it?

Logic fail.

Not if you know public schools. Superintendents just don't do this. They work from hospital beds.

We'll see, I guess.

She's home and sent a note to staff today to not send emails on weekends and at night. I guess she is struggling for boundaries and she wants us to establish boundaries. It sounds good, but there is never permission to lessen the workload and miss deadlines.

Yet we all got texts at 6:30pm from MCPS. Communication overload! And most of it isn’t even useful.
