Since Republicans are quite literally dismantling our ability to vote for President - as in show up, cast a vote, that vote is recognized appropriately and with some modicum of fair representation by the electoral college, and the candidate with the most votes becomes President, I’m voting Democratic Party.

Sure, not crazy about all of the Democratic platform, but at least Democrats seem pretty committed to preserving our democratic republic.

The Republicans could sweep across the board if they could run a moderate like Romney. The Democrats have gone off the deep end, but as you say, Trump is repellent.

You and the rest of the dummies who are practically baying to vote Republican are part of the problem. You don’t see that though, do you? Your reply will be of the “omg you’re such a partisan!” variety, but whoop de ding. Which Republicans have presented any sort of plans or governance? Which ones have actually acted against the worst impulses of the GOP fringe (now the base and no longer “the fringe” at all)? Abortion is functionally illegal in multiple states, prenatal care is worse, pregnant women who were actually just trying to have a baby have to wait to be near enough to death to get a life saving abortion… where has any Republican put any brakes on this?

You all want to pretend that Trump is the only problem. He’s not. He’s the weird boil that signifies blood poisoning. But ohhhhh the Democrats want trans people to feel safe. (And for the record I do agree that trans activists have gone too far but they still get murdered way more than people born into the right gendered body so I can see where it’s coming from. You can only hold people down for so long before something snaps).

Anytime your democrat party speaks out about moderation and not demanding wide open borders, uncontrolled violent crime, and abortion to one minute before the baby is born whilst forcing the tax payer to foot the bill, you let us know that republicans are fringe.

Any time your Republican party quits lying and spreading conspiracy theories to simple-minded voters like you willing to believe anything, you let us know.

No your party is worse.. no your party is worse... no it's your party.. no, no your party.... geez Louise children, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out both parties are no longer serving the people well

You made four points, and every one of them is completely incorrect.

You're definitely a Republican.

I think you should read it again because more than 3/4 of it points to voting for Democrats.

Exactly. And you're just confused/contradictory about the other third.

Other fourth.

Dem and GOP voters are not the problem. It's the Dem and GOP politicians that are the problem. You can't lump the average American voter in with the politicians that supposedly represent them. The voters are simply voting for what they believe to be their only choices.

I commend you for giving it some thought instead of voting for any R or D candidate put in front of you like most of the voting sheep do. We all need to get more serious about our voting habits as there is too much going on in the world to carelessly vote in someone as elderly and unhinged as Trump or as elderly as Biden. We won't be able to continue to get away with voting in these less than fit for office presidents.

There should be a minimum IQ in order to vote. If you are so dense that you need to ask,
then sit home on election and twittle your thumbs,!

Agree! You and so many others like you are the reason Trump was elected in the first place. Educate yourself.

If you want democracy to continue, the only way to do it is vote Democrat right now. Hopefully that will change in a few years, but the GOP has turned themselves into an authoritarian party.

I am in your situation. I honestly don’t know what to do. I:

Am atheist and do not trust the evangelicals in particular.

Think Jan. 6th was an attempted coup.

Think US interests are supported by Israel and have been appalled by the refusal of the progressives to come out strongly against the most basic of war crimes, like burning Jewish toddlers alive.

Am strongly pro-choice.

Am pro-gun control, but reasonable limits like not allowing people with retraining orders against them to buy guns.

Believe human-made climate change is an impending disaster that could end life as we know it, and think a strong environmental policy is critical.

Think Democratic support for suppression of speech online under the guise of suppressing “misinformation” is terrifying and Orwellian.

Was strongly opposed to the school shutdowns and am angry at the refusal to acknowledge the enormous harm done to kids by those shutdowns.

Think we need to manage our border much better.

Think a strong middle class is essential for a strong economy and generally support the concept of labor, but also think a lot of unions have lost their way entirely.

Think it’s ridiculous, deeply misogynist, and dangerous that women have lost the ability to have their own sex-segregated safe places and men/boys can self-id into women’s prisons and girls sports.

Think public schools have lost their way and vouchers may be the way forward at this point.

Think progressives like AOC and squad don’t have any sense of morality or ethics. Or common sense.

Think the MAGA are essentially a death cult.

In general, am scared and worried about the sharp uptick of misogyny across both the right and the left.

OP, you are a Democrat. You've let yourself be distracted by the right-wing media's constant focus on LGBTQ issues, and you're ignoring Biden's nuance and progress on immigration.

But you realize MAGA is a true threat to our democracy, and for now the Republican Party = MAGA. So you have no choice but to vote D.
