Multiple studies I’ve seen say that ~ 80% of American women wear their engagement rings on a near daily basis and pretty much every married woman I can think of in my work/social/family circles regularly do.
I didn’t see the thread you referenced but guessing selection bias may have come into play.

I rarely see people with just bands. When I do, I assume that there stone is so small, they don't wear it, unless it's a diamond eternity band.
