I shop and my wife puts away. She’s the cook so she needs to see exactly what we have, and also she enjoys it. I hang around sometimes because it’s so cute when she gets excited about something I bought. Like if I scored some scallops on sale or something.

Grocery shopping is like a vacation. We both fight over who gets to do it. Arguably it’s the easiest chore and waaaaay easier than staying home entertaining toddlers and cleaning. They should be the one to put away groceries. We both help though.

I do all the shopping and putting away because I’m a control freak.

Generally the person who did the shopping puts away the refrigerated items right away, the rest sits out until someone gets tired of looking at them

I honestly have no clue. It’s more than 5 times in the last 6 weeks, but I don’t know if it was two times last week or four.
I do know that I was the last person to go grocery shopping, I bought enough to last our family of five for four days, and I put it away. I could probably pretty much tell you what I bought and how much of it is still left

Even if DH was magically motivated to put stuff away, I wouldn’t let him near the fridge. He likes to put fresh produce on top of frowsy stuff and just shove any containers or jars backwards to make room.

When he shops, he leaves dry goods pushed against the back of the counter because he “doesn’t know where they go”. Don’t get me started.

For a trip to the local store, whoever shopped generally puts it away. For a Costco run, unloading the car, breaking things up into usable portions, and putting away is a team sport.

My adult kid does the bulk of carrying in the groceries, and I put them away (no husband), so I know where all ingredients are.

How much are you people buying that putting the groceries away is such a task? It takes me 5 min max and that's on a big trip.

The person who goes shopping puts it away immediately. Most times the other people aren't around to help anyway. I will send my teen out for sodas if I run out of hands to bring stuff in.
