I posted upthread. It’s been six weeks since I joined a gym and I’ve been going six days a week. It’s starting to feel less of a big new thing and now just something I do. I’ve also been tracking my macros on MyFitnessPal and made some big discoveries - like I’ve never gotten enough protein and won’t unless I’m super mindful. Without trying I average 15% protein and my goal is 25%. I’ll report back on other results when I recheck my body composition at the eight-week mark.

I’ve stopped avoiding mirrors in public and I actually like thinking about buying new clothes again. Will that last 15 come off? I honestly don’t know. I’ll keep working at it but won’t hate myself in the process, which feels nice.

This is lovely. Good for you!

I’ve lost 10% of my old body weight (19 pounds) and kept it off over the past four years. I am still working to drop more weight. I find Fitness Pro really helps. I like the charts. I can see it is not a straight line - I gain and lose and vary by about five pounds but I’ve been working out more and I feel the healthiest I ever have.

I recently got down to the same weight as when I delivered my now-10 year old. At the time, that had been my highest weight in 5 years and I was a pretty fit pregnant lady. So, more to do! but also a number I haven't seen in a long time.

I think it's interesting how weight redistributes. 10 years ago I had chubby cheeks that hid my eyes when I smiled; now, at the same weight, I have thin face and torso, bigger bust, and the rest of it slid downward.

I’m around 5ft with a petite frame. Down 20 lbs from my pandemic high; it got to the point where my knees would hurt walking up stairs.

Still would like to lose another 10-15lbs to get me into the “trim middle-aged lady” zone, but I’ve been able to hold my current weight through multiple holiday seasons and vacations, so that’s a win.

I have a food plan that isn’t that hard to follow, but for some reason the last few months I couldn’t find the time to do (I create a food journal every 3 days, then follow it, so it takes a little set up from me).

I just did 3 perfect days of following that plan. I wasn’t ever really hungry, and I feel good about myself. For me following a plan ends up being so much healthier than random unplanned eating (grab a pop tart mid-day because it’s fast (WFH)).

I’ve also lost 20 pounds since January on Wegovy. I know they say you can’t spot lose but I really feel that the core focus has really helped my clothes fitting so much better, especially tops. Shopping is now a joy and not a fraught endeavor.

That's great, congrats! I've been thinking about doing a Peloton core program in the mornings. Hard to break my usual habits though, since I work from home.

Start small. Just do a 5 min class and work your way up. You can do anything for 5 minutes.

NP but there are some good 10 minute standing ab classes. Something about not even having to get on the floor makes it easier for me to talk myself into starting a class, and then I feel better having done it.

This was me. It's been a month since I posted and I've lost my strength to keep going! I feel like I'm eating the same things every day and having a hard time with social events. I'm dressing thanksgiving at the in laws as I'll have little to no control over the food being served (we are flying there). Any suggestions or words of advice so I can stay strong? I could really use the support.

To add: I’ve been trying to reduce white flour and salt. Thanks to Kevin Bacon — I tried making flourless banana waffles. I love them. They make a great quick meal and the potassium is a plus. ( One mashed banana, one beaten egg, a dollop of peanut butter or almond butter, a pinch of baking powder plus cinnamon, vanilla, a sprinkle of chocolate chips — makes two waffles).
