I would be peeved if someone did this to me OP & I would have to discuss it, one way or another.
Talk to your friend about it in as tactful of a manner as you can.
You can decide if you want to keep her as a friend based on how she reacts.
A true friend will not only apologize to both you + your husband - she will also offer to pay you back for the tickets you purchased.
Then offer to never do something like this.

Did she apologize or express regret?
I have a very good friend who has flaked out on events before, to the point where it's ticked me off temporarily. However, I realize that she has a depressed personality, and either is over the moon about something, or down in the dumps. If the latter, she will bail on already planned events, because she can't cope.
She's still one of my best friends, because otherwise she's been very supportive for years. But I always make plans with her in the knowledge that she might call me to say she can't make it.

I would absolutely say that I already use bought the tickets and get their half from them if possible.

OP could have used the tickets. Itβs not even like OP made a plan with just the friend and would have been by herself if the friend bailed. The friend should not have done this, but OP should have gone and had a good time with her husband.
