Michigan will have to play UNC now.

Yes the overall acceptance rate last year was 17%, and OOS was lower. So clearly everyone is getting in.

No. Just a cash grab. And the board chair is a billionaire real estate developer, so he gets richer and richer the more off-campus housing demand there is.

Like clockwork, the UVA boosters are threatened any time another school is praised. I can't imagine what it must be like to be so insecure.

And also like clockwork, the UVA haters rush to judge and malign the UVA boosters. Both groups are so tiresome.

But, this thread was started by a UVA booster with an agenda. Reread the OP.

So what? Don't take the bait. I think at least some of the posts are the products of trolls just wanting to stir up trouble as they know how easy it can be to rouse the UVA boosters and haters.

Wisconsin? LOL

You laugh. Wisconsin has a very underrated reasearch component, Madison is a far superior college environment to Charlottesville, and frankly, it is simply more fun there. When someone like you degrades a school like Wisconsin, you show your ignorance. The only reason it isn't as highly rated as it was decades ago is because state GOP have been undercutting funding. Gov. Evers is undoing that as best he can.

To be fair, Wisconsin is an excellent school, Madison is a better college town than Charlottesville, and students overall probably do have more fun at Wisconsin than at UVA. But to claim that UVA is not "on par" with Wisconsin (as opposed to being peer institutions) is silly as UVA is higher ranked, more selective, and its incoming students have higher stats, among other things.

I live in the Midwest, & we’ve learned to respect the Badgers’ athletic team’s & academics. But you have to factor in the fact that their standards for partying & beer drinking are on a different level. So when he said not “on par,” a significant % of that computation probably involved malt beverages.

Oh, and the OOS price is ridiculous. And, you’re not going to get much if any financial aid. In sum, not a good deal.

I'll agree with you on the OOS price, we were full pay. But DC never had any trouble getting every class he wanted. Off campus housing is plentiful, if pricey. And he actually had good advisors (double major so he had two).

I’ve heard the same positive comments from other students I know who attend. I think the PP confused Michigan with the UC schools.
