I have 2, a boy or a girl. Affordability, age, energy and lack of family nearby - major factors in limiting to 2. Also, with 2 there is a good balance in terms of family, marriage, job etc.

I have one. I have been told by complete strangers (for example at the playground) that l should have at least one more.

I love my kid and l love to work and am the primary bread winner, so planning to keep it at one.

In fact someone on that thread pointed out that you never hear moms of many telling moms of 1-2 they should have more kids, and this thread proves it. Maybe the lesson here is you should worry about your own families and not start fights with other women because you disapprove of their choices.

This was accurate for me. When I told people I had a boy and a girl often I got this sigh of contentment and people said "perfect!" and it was a little weird. People make such a big deal out of gender.

I'm really impressed by the maturity of the argument about having more people at the holiday table. It seems some people watch too much Hallmark TV.

I have one by choice and he is a joy. I don’t say this often in person because who wants to have it rubbed in their face but I love it so much and love having time to have an identity outside of being a mom - although I love being a mom too and feel like I’m a better mom because I can actually be there for him when needed

I have two but wish I had more. Two is right for me due to having kids late but I have already told my kids to think about setting down and having kids younger because if I had them younger I would have had two and wait a few years and then two more. I was so focused on career I almost missed out on having kids in general and honestly the kids are way better than the career.

I have two teen girls. Older one is “easy” and second one has some anxiety issues but otherwise is a good kid. Both are feasibly week behaved and good students and it’s STILL hard. More power to those that can handle more. I can’t. And it didn’t “get easier” when they got older - just different.

I have two older girls. No one has ever asked me or implied I should have more. Maybe it’s a 2 boys thing?
