They are mostly married, though, and they like golf because it gets them out of the house/off kid duty for hours.

+1 My mom was super into fly fishing, and she had a LOT of attention as a result, even though she was married.

+1 on the nerd hobbies - friend met her husband at a Lego convention. Those are like 99% men, and yeah they’re all on the nerdy side, but they also have money to burn and tend to be faithful.

No, but they are certainly not averse to it! Don't know if you've attended many actual fly fishing group meetings (either on the water or if they meet once a month elsewhere, like in a bar), but there are plenty of single men, and very few women.

Hobbies, sure... but what men really care about is your college degree, job title and salary, and also whether you're influential in the best social circles. If those latter things are on point then any hobby will do.
