Plenty of 50 year olds can eat whatever they want in moderation and be 5’9” and 137 lbs.
Really? Because I'm 50 and only one person I know 50+ can do this. And, I have a lot of friends. I routinely could eat anything, but as soon as I turned 48 I had to drastically change the diet I'd had for decades. I have no opinion on Heidi Klum or her diet, but I find your assertion is dead wrong.
What part of in moderation don’t you all understand?
The moderation pre-perimenopause and the moderation in perimenopause and beyond don't align.
The quantities might change but the concept of moderation remains the same. When I was 36, I could eat three slices of pizza for dinner. Now, at 46, I’m good with two, or often only one. One problem with spending your teens/20s/30s focusing on absolute amounts and counting calories is that you might never learn to sense that natural moderation point. It shifts as you get older, but if you know what it feels like, you shift with it.

I doubt it.

Heidi Klum is 50 years old, 5’9” and 137 lbs, which puts her at a 20 BMI. But she eats 900 calories per day to stay that way. I don’t know how that’s physically possible without losing weight, but I guess bodies need way less energy at 50 than I thought.

she looks, and based on her stats is, skinny fat. She does not look malnourished though, which is why I doubt she really only eats 900 calories.
Skinny Fat?And you wonder why so many American women have eating disorders and body dysmorphia.
Skinny fat just means a slim frame but little muscle mass, which sounds about right. (NP)
Also, I think Heidi is well below 137 lbs, I'd guess more like mid 120's. I was 5' 9" and 138-140 lbs my whole adulthood (until kids/middle age!) and I had considerably more meat on my bones!
Agreed. I'm her same height, 126lbs. I lift weights, eat clean and don't drink and I know I don't look like this. Maybe she has "heavy bones"![]()
