I would have them speak with their current Geometry teacher (or one of the Geometry teachers) and a different counselor. The 9th grade counselor is on maternity leave and the others are taking on extra work so I’d try a different counselor.

I am a Walls teacher. I know for a fact kids have done that in the past few years. I’m not sure why they’re saying no now.

Geometry & Algebra II not pre-cal to my knowledge

NP here. Basis to walls requires a ton of repetition. It is the main reason kids on the fence stay at Basis. Basically they get no credo for an entire year, so they have to repeat the classes and go to school an extra year (basis senior year is not a standard year).

They only repeat Geometry. And at this point DCPS is very clear as to what they will get credit for. So it’s a choice those families are making.
Actually in 9th basis kids who switch to walls have to repeat geometry, biology, and world history …..
