Hydrating is not an actual scientific thing
What? It absolutely is. If you present to the ER with symptoms of dehydration they will pop an IV in you as one of their first treatments.

it was a wii. Hold your wee to win a wii.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:This is just crazy, and sad. 4 bottles in under 30 mins, while it seems like a lot I wouldn't think it would be enough to cause water toxicity.

She must’ve been really petite.
I remember an older story about a young woman who died after a radio contest that was to drink as much water as you can. (The contest prize was an X-Box or something.) That’s when I first learned water toxicity was a thing.
Damn tragic….and scary.

There’s more to this.
There must be. When I run on my treadmill, I drink one 16.9 ounce bottle every 15 minutes. That's how much I need just to stay ahead with hydration. It doesn't make sense that 4 would kill you.

Anonymous wrote:My wife nearly did this on an AIDS ride. Sucking from a camelback and another water bottle, while riding 100 miles. Her electrolytes got completely messed up -- thankfully, she checked herself into a medical tent and they knew immediately what it was. She was on an IV (banana bag maybe?) for several hours.
