Speak for yourself. My chilled was thrilled to try a different language and people watch. If he was lucky he could make friends on a playground and eat foods or sweets and actively knew he was in a different place. The experience is rich for them in ways we tend to forget. Also good for you that your child is a multi citizen. Mine now knows he doesn’t have to settle for America or anywhere for that matter. The world is his oyster as well.

Balkans - especially steam ride through Serbia and gondola there
Montenegro- lake Skadar boat ride; super boat ride in Kotor, snorkeling and swimming in queens beach

Kid is six.

In Norway he loved the boat rides through the fjords, our cabin overlooking Geiranger fjord, fresh foccacia and cinnamon buns from Lom bakery, road tripping through the country, local soccer game

Grenada- beautiful beaches, air bb had fun pool, chocolate factory and restaurant, lots of hiking including to waterfalls etc, rum distillery for adults

Cyprus- beaches had clearest water, we stayed at air bbs, hotels with pool, one of our favorites was In mountains with pool - we went to north Cyprus for day from there and got best babclava and fresh figs cherries from local stand - we would spend most mornings either hiking or visiting archaeological site and chill at pool in evenings

Also Aruba - we stayed at resort with 4 story pool- also did a Jeep tour to national park with tide pools. Beach was really nice

Hawaii did big island- split time between west and volcano- hiking and beach - such a nice time- went with grandparents

My kids are similarly international and have traveled around the world for tourism and to visit family. Their favorite vacations were to the Black Hills of South Dakota, and to Wyoming and Washington/Oregon.

LOL -I was just going to say this! Mine have traveled all over, but have also loved South Dakota, the Pacific NW, and I’d add Colorado.

My kids have enjoyed all our trips but Rome was the highlight because of the food and gelato. Sometimes it’s really the simplest things!

We haven't been to as many places as some of you but my kids are 5&8 and they've loved everywhere we've gone but their FAVORITES are:

Portugal (all of it honestly but favorite spot was cascais)
Paris
London
Copenhagen
Quebec city (at christmas)

They've also enjoyed: Alsace, France & Germany (christmas) and my oldest loved Italy but he was barely a toddler lol so can't quite add that one, oh and they loved the airport in Iceland lol. they've told people that they've been to iceland.

They are interested in going basically everywhere but are particularly interested in Scotland, Spain, and Italy right now.

We'd like to venture outside of Europe too but were waiting until they were a little bit older.

We’ve been around the world but my child is partial to Corpus Christi. She’s not wrong- everything is 20 minutes away, they have the best strip mall breakfast burritos, miniature golf by the beach and an excellent aquarium (with its own spray park).

They were crazy for Singapore.

Epic playgrounds, huge variety of food, easy public transit, warm people from all over, plus clean and often luxurious public bathrooms. It is safe enough that they had far more independence than at home.

If you asked them directly, they would say they liked it for the wild lizards and tropical plants.

We are headed to Thailand for thanksgiving and Australia for spring break so we shall see.

Kids liked some of the street carnivals and engaging with people at fruit stands. We were in Negril. They also went to catch crabs and collected crab shells.

In Bali - we did a traditional balinese dance show and my 6 year old learned how to tie a sarong. Loved it because he didn’t have to wear pants. We did a tour with the monkeys and both kids were afraid of the monkeys but fed them bananas anyway. We have done RC cruises and they feel more freedom on a cruise and enjoy just being on a huge boat that they technically cant seem to conceptually digest so that was fun for them.

We went to Greece after our 9yo read Percy Jackson. The timing was great!
