Dramatically. Exponentially. Vastly.

I love my cats, so much. But kids? It’s other level. Sorry, kittens.

I lost a beloved dog recently, and I don't think I will ever get over that loss. That dog and I were extremely bonded, and I loved him with all my heart. Losing him hit me hard. My sadness and pain is no less just because he was a dog.

I was sad to euthanize my beloved dog, but I recovered pretty quickly.

I do. And I LOVE my parents.
I definitely love my pet more than any human I’ve ever known.

Are you OP?

I was going to answer that I love my kids more than the dogs but my kids may love our dogs more than their parents!

Also a child has a much more complex relationship, but I can go either way

My kids are not literally made from a piece of me, but I still love them more than I love the dog.

For me, I love my children, doodle, then husband— in that order lol

To give you some prospective, Queen Elizabeth is known to say she loves her horses, dogs, husband, then children - in THAT order! Poor King Charles

Yes. I love my pets in the sense that I am fond of them, and would miss them if they passed away, but nowhere near the level of love that I have for my kid - or honestly, even my stepson, whose life I came into as a tween.

That's weird. Are you some kind of a social graces and emotionally stunted person?

Not at all. I love my parents, the rest of my family and my friends. I just love my dog more. I live with her, so she's a part of my life in a way no person is. I don't understand being rude to those who differ from you. Perhaps it is you who lacks social graces.

The love I have for my dogs though is very intense - like the way you feel about an infant or toddler.
Rationally of course the kids always come first.

This is a good way of putting it. I think I do love my dog as much as I love my kids, but I definitely prioritize my kids above my dog.

My kids exist because of me, it’s my obligation to raise them to be able to be productive and live independently one day, and they’ll most likely outlive me, hopefully by multiple decades. They likely will have offspring of their own. My dog doesn’t exist because of anything I did, will never live independently, doesn’t need to be productive, will have no offspring, and has a short lifespan. All I have to do with him is love him and provide care. There’s no long term result that I’m hoping to achieve. I just enjoy him. I love my children with all my heart, but there’s always second guessing about whether I’m making the right choices for them what repercussions there will be. Parenting is much harder than pet ownership.

No. I just love them really differently.

I also don't love my children more than my spouse. I just love them in extremely different ways and have really different relationships with them.

I feel like asking a question like this betrays a misunderstanding of what love is. I just don't think you can compare love of one person (or creature) with love of another.

You can like someone more than someone else. But you either love someone or you don't. There's no "little" love.
