I think most of the people complaining about Virginia politics on this thread are recent DC and MD transplants trying to make NoVa into what they left behind — just like CA transplants who are trying to screw up Colorado and parts of Texas.

I mean most of the other counties wouldn’t want to be associated with Arlington either. Some of us moved to those other counties to get away from close-in NoVA.

What's stopping it from leaving VA and becoming tis own state.

If its politics, it'll be a purple state and be competitive! Tired of Richmond screwing us over in favor of the buck toothed goobers in SoVA, Hampton Roads and central VA.

The reason nova is doing well is because of the pro business policies of Richmond

I agree with this.

I used to be pro nova statehood. But now we’d be as bad as DC or MD.

Exactly. I always laugh when people (liberals) insist on speaking for everyone else. I’m happy with Youngkin. He’s a decent human being doing a good job.

It would be two new Republican senators and an increase in electoral votes for Republicans.

Nova would be a blue state...

And what would RoVa be?

Purple State

Even with Nova votes, Virginia has a republican governor, ag, and lt governor. Subtract those blue votes and Virginia would be very red
