Karl Racine was an embarrassment. During a historic crime wave, he refused to prosecute anyone for anything, no matter what the crime. Instead he wasted his time filing extremely pointless lawsuits against Facebook and Google that were laughed out of court.


I completely agree with you. Racine is such a joke and deep down he knows it. He would have never beat Bowser in 2022, and he knew it which is why he didn’t run. Notice whenever he’s asked about her, he throws shade, but when she’s asked about him, she doesn’t even bother to say anything, because he’s not worth the wasted air it would take to speak on him.

Because Black people loved how he thumbed his nose at power and handed out make-work jobs to friends and family like candy, while conveniently forgetting that the city was collapsing around them.

I lived in DC during Fenty. I was paying attention to other things during that time, but my sense was that he fell out of favor because people thought he got a little ahead of himself.

Trayon could fix climate issues. He claims Jews control the weather. Only in a place like DC could a guy like this keep his office.


I used to believe that DC collectively shrugging while a sitting city councilmember spouted conspiracy theories was a symptom of DC's particular incompetence, but sadly I think this is no longer unusual behavior anywhere in the country or the world.

But lets say it again for any DC voters who may not know: Trayon White, the Ward 8 councilmember for a good number of years now, believes and proclaims that Jews control the weather as well the banks and the federal government. It seems a lot of his constituents agree, and everyone else in the city who may not agree basically dismissed these attitudes as "punching up." This is pretty scary for Jewish DC residents. Our wide-eyed crazy dude also seems to be an antivaxer. Just a lot of nutbaggery passing without consequences for Trayon White.


He also has effectively banned the construction of bike lanes in his ward. I’ve learned here that many opponents of bike lanes seem to share his tendency towards crazy talk.


Despite that, and the anti-Semitism, Trayon *still* was endorsed by GGWash.
