I listened to this when it came out and it was so good. 60 Songs That Explain the 90s podcast did an episode on Nothing Compares 2 U that was even better. I got The Lion and the Cobra on cassette when it came out in 9th grade, I didn’t know she was barely older than I was. Peace to her and her family.

I read her book when it came out a couple of years ago, and had no idea of the trauma she suffered as a child. That book was so painful to read, but honest. She really had been through a lot over the course of her life and I hope she has found peace.

Her trademark was being bald. The head scarf was a new thing related to her conversion to Islam in the last couple of years.

You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart is my favorite song of hers. So intense.

So heartbroken. I’ve always considered her one of the best singers I’ve ever heard. I still listen to her songs.

The Catholic Church has a lot to answer for.

No one recovers from the type of child abuse she suffered. It’s a miracle she held on for as long as she did.

Back in the day, some of her songs were awesome.

Maybe you’re thinking of Dolores O’Riordan, from the Cranberries?

My favorite collaboration was with one of my favorite bands, The The.

Thank you for sharing. This is how I will remember her. Beautiful, soulful voice and one of the most beautiful humans I'd seen to date (at that time).

Huge talent, but she's obviously lip-syncing here.

Yeah but that was kind of her introduction to America

This is so heartbreaking. I'm gutted that she and her gorgeous voice are gone and I'm heartbroken for her family. Her docu as amazing, highly recommend

One of my favorites - duet with fellow Irish musical genius Shane MacGowan "Haunted." Sinead's angelic voice contrasts so wonderfully with Shane's rough growling.
