I wonder how much surplus gas was used and CO2 emitted as a result of that idiot whose Tesla just stopped working on Mass Ave in NW by the Cathedral yesterday morning. Such a big back up. People who drive Teslas generally just don't have a clue how they are made or the fact that most of them are lemons and will need to be replaced far sooner than those of driving gas powered, combustion engine cars.

You are only "helping the environment" in a relative sense. Relative to driving a lot with a combustion engine, you are doing less damage to the environment.

I don't have an EV -- I drive a gas-powered car -- but I only drive 3K miles a year. Relative to you, I'm "helping the environment even more. I produce less CO2 than you per month, and my car required less CO2 to produce than yours.

You and I are "helping the environment" (i.e. hurting the environment less than some alternative) less compared to a city-dweller who doesn't have a car and uses a bicycle and mass transit.
