Have never heard "P1" used to mean "top team". How odd!!!!

Regardless, your "top team" 8 year old LOL will be sufficiently challenged at any camp with older players.

My more serious player loved Dutch (less serious one hated that they could only get water during designated breaks, fwiw).

We found Coerver underwhelming.

What is P1? And anything you do at this age, you will have older kids that will be better. Just do something close to home.


P1 is top team, I thought everyone knew that, sorry. Off course the older kids will be better, thats the point of having her train with older kids.

Thanks for restarting this thread. My son is signed up for the University of Maryland Camp for Middle Schoolers in July. He's excited. I would love to hear from anyone who has sent their MS player there.

Coerver was mediocre, IMO but it was a huge plus that it was indoor.

Soccer Academy camps were terrible.

UVA camp for my girl. She loved it and got challenged there. Very well organized as well.

Kid vs cone camp. Solid for young ages, as it’s a technical focus, with solid repititions.

Is the camp run by uva soccer players or is it a third party that does camp and just rents the uva/episcopal dorms?


Seemed like it was the head UVA coaching staff with players as assistant coaches ect. Definitely not 3rd party.

Same. My DD, rising 5th grader really liked it. Said the soccer was the best part. It was defiantly a camp for more mature kids, not much hand holding going on. Coaching staff seemed great. Seemed like they brought the 'A team' with head coaches. Players seemed to range from decent to excellent. DD said they made good friends and are ready to sign up for next year.

My son just completed a rugby camp at the Naval Academy. I know it's not soccer, but the camp was very impressive—facilities amazing, the overnight experience (staying in Naval Academy dorms) was amazing, excellent D1 coaches, tours of the campus, talks with cadets, scouting, etc. I assume there is similar quality across the programs and we're looking into soccer for next year.
