There are no houses within a 10-15 minute drive to Tysons. that aren't tear downs, and we REALLY don't want to live in a condo with a baby. Maaaaaaaaaybe open to townhouses, but are they kid friendly? Any recs on where to look or are we being totally unrealistic?

Are you trying to say cheapest and best area.
It’s the worst part near Tyson’s so it’s the cheapest.

In Tysons you can probably afford a condo, outside of Tysons you can get a townhouse, but it won't be a big beautiful new townhouse, it will be an older style one. But families with 1-2 kids can live perfectly fine in a townhouse.

But the developers are onto it, so this is what you get for 775k: https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/2110-Pimmit-Dr_Falls-Church_VA_22043_M61955-70681?from=srp-list-card
