Sorry to bump this, I’m just catching up. But yes, when I was in my teens, I thought “brooding” meant “deep.” Now that I’ve got my own girl, I realize that sometimes it just means “emotionally unavailable” or “too immature to express his feelings that he hasn’t figured out yet.” Whereas Jeremiah’s openness and willingness to put himself out there is refreshing—although agreed, he may not be all that deep either.
