Warren eats the same thing for breakfast everyday, a bacon and egg McMuffin from McDonalds and he only adds cheese if his investments did well overnight in the Asian market. I’m not making this up. I watched a documentary on him in which he participated and they followed him in his old car as he went through the drive through explaining all this. They also live in the same house since forever.
So I’m sure she would have complained over a $4 coffee.
You realize that sound like something other than “thrifty”.
I agree, which is why I also wrote cheap.
The documentary also went into depth about his relationship with his late mother who was abusive. I think a lot of his quirks re money come from that. Anyway he seems super cranky. I worked with him when I was with an Omaha firm and while he was pleasant he had some odd mannerisms. But whatever.
He sound OCD, paranoid and have severe superstitions.
The whole living with a girlfriend while married to another is also bizarre.

Anonymous wrote:I can’t believe anyone finds this billionaire being upset about a cup of coffee costing $4 admirable in any way. It’s ridiculous and offensive. The article said that she said she could buy a pound of coffee for $4 somewhere (not sure where unless she’s buying wholesale) - but if she thinks she can do that, she should, bring a coffee maker and cup and brew it herself. This is not the same thing as spending your money wisely. It’s stupid.

Drip coffee is not a high-labor good. I get $1/cup coffee regularly. And €1/cup coffee in Paris.
She’s right that they’re price gouging her on-site.
