So I actually have to apologize and say I am impressed with something Eleanor Holmes Norton has just proposed.
I had a different view of her work efforts.

Per WTOP, she is trying to fix the federal employee pay compression for senior level feds issue.

About time and it takes major political courage to propose.

The salary is $174,000. That's pretty good for someone who is 86 and holds a position with absolutely no authority and therefore no responsibility. She also controls a staff budget of $1 million.

Charles Allen would actually be great for this role. BS constituent services is the only thing he’s good at. And it would get him off the council so he wouldn’t be able to make the entire city less safe anymore.

Ya know, I hate to pile on here but this was actually true in our case. I don’t want to go into any detail, but my family did once reach out to her with a constituent issue (we are all DC residents) and yes, we were completely ghosted. Totally ignored. I was stunned.

I haven’t voted for her since.


We also received zero response when we went to them for help. We called and left two messages and sent an email. No response. Not even a form response.

The interview that she did with Stephen Colbert in 2006 or whenever was rather important. An instant classic it was.
