It ain’t the walking, sister, and it ain’t the recent calorie counting that’s gonna do the job either. It’s carbs.

You don’t need to go Keto or anything, but if you can reduce your daily carb intake to under 100 a day and keep up the walking the weight will drop off much more quickly. If you could reduce your carb intake even more it would be even quicker, but under 100 is a good place to start.

OP, how are things going? Have you been able to incorporate any of the recommended changes? I am glad that I am getting in 7-10K/day, but the real progress in weight loss for me has come through changing up my diet. I may still provide a starch at dinner for DH and DS, but I now pass over the rice and add more salad to my plate. Fortunately we always have a protein as I need it for other reasons, so this change has not been as hard as it may be for folks who eat a lot of pasta, etc.

GL!

Of you do this, you may not even need to count calories. I stay under 100 grams of carbohydrates a day--don't otherwise diet--and I love 1/2 pound a week. The problem is, the only way the low carb route works is if you decide to stay low carb forever. Not suprt low, but lowish. Otherwise you will gain it all back plus more.

If you have lost, what changes did you make to do so?

10km x 2 = 20km = 12 1/2 miles. He walks over 12 miles/day. Is he retired?

Keep the walking, but definitely look at the calories. Minor changes will help you, start by adding more veg and have a small salad with lunch and dinner. Drizzle the best olive oil you can get, you need your healthy fats. I like to have a good lunch and a light early dinner, don’t skip breakfast, opt for eggs, some fruit and somehow I learned how to like Greek plain yogurt. You got this, small changes to your life style will help!
