Fine, and motherless at a fairly young age. My mother died at 61. At which point this baby will be 8.

Unless your mother was also Naomi Campbell’s mother it is irrelevant.

This is Naomi‘s issue to work out as she is their mother. Any reasonable parent has an estate plan.
