Yes. But if he wants to stand out to universities, he should also consider math, physics, chemistry, computing, and/or biology olympiads. I think honors geometry would be better than nothing, but If he's motivated and mostly cares about college admissions, his time would be better spent studying for those Olympiads than on honors geometry. Do any of those subjects interest him?

Colleges want students who can do the research themselves and don't order their mommy around like a servant.
