High school if you’re going to get into a t25 school is a grind more so than a social educational experience. Why would college afterwards be any different.

If you want easy classes go to community college.

Anyone going to any of these schools is going to be a really good student. They're all grinders in the sense that they work hard and put in the time to get results. The mythology of Dartmouth as a bunch of frat boys and Vandy as a bunch of sorority girls is just that - mythology. They were all the valedictorians in high school.

That being said, UCLA and Michigan are too big to say anything meaningful. But all the other schools are generally nerdy, social and well-adjusted.

Well, maybe not USC

If you want a good education, you are not hyper focused on a specific major or a track. You want overall experience and ability to pick your major in sophomore year, not before even applying to college.

+1. Also no 3 in the nation for public universities. The PP must be old. Not only is UVA now impossible to get into, but the competition is stiff. My kid worked hard for his grades, very hard.

COMPLETELY agree with this take.

Kid's at Vandy and wishes sometimes he was at Wake -- which he liked a lot more during tours. I think it was probably his top choice but he went with the much higher-ranked school. Which, as it turns out, is packed to the rafters with grinders despite what people are saying here


nah - all depends on major. Some Wake majors are chock full of grinders and some Vandy majors are cake city - the broad brush of DCUM generalization strikes again!

USC is not a T25 school.

Wrong. According to USNWR, the University of Southern California is #25.



The list you are referencing is actually top 25 universities only and does not include the top 25 liberal arts schools also being discussed here.
