Hilarious you moms think 13 yr old boys are the pinnacle of cleanliness, regardless if you "raised them right." All kids at this age can struggle in understanding what being clean means. I don't see a single thing wrong with what OP said to her Dad.

JFC. Your kid is 13 and you need to bug your Dad about this? Let the kid wear dirty socks or ask him directly. You sound insufferable.

With changing his socks?? How old are your kids? Can they do anything for themselves yet, or are you still cooking breakfast daily for your 18 yr old?

You only wear sock with shoes. Most likely you are only wearing shoes a few hours a day- miniature golf or something

OP mentioned that the grandpa and son are both sporty, so probably wearing them for something more active than mini golf. Either way, sounds like it all worked out.

Athlete foot is not really a dirty sock thing. It is not wearing socks with shoes. The shoes and feet remain wet and warm. Even if the kid was wearing the socks all day, everyday as long as the sock are dry it is no big deal.

Now if you are at the beach you wear socks a lot less. It is usually bare feet, flip flops or sandals. You only wear sock with shoes. Most likely you are only wearing shoes a few hours a day- miniature golf or something.

Helping with stuff is probably why this 13 yr old can't remember to change his socks or "find" them in his bag. He's being helped too much and lacks basic self care skills.
