This will sort itself out. My dd at 10 refused to talk to me about it, but I kept casually mentioning it. Then one day I just bought 3 different bralettes and sports bras from target along with other clothes and pretended it was no big deal, like “hey I got you new socks.” I did make her try them on for size. Then left it alone, but for telling her no flipping around and upside down 1) without one or 2) without her shirt firmly tucked in and why. By a few months later she started occasionally wearing them and now at 11.5 wears one all the time.

It’s gross for a woman to go without a bra in public. She’s flopping around and we see nipples. I’m not going to have my daughter be one of those women.

There is a lot of time between 10 and high school. Besides, who cares? Not everyone feels uncomfortable and self conscious because someone looks at them. Maybe she doesn’t care. Plenty of women and teens don’t wear a bra and don’t care if men or anyone look.

I hope you don’t have a daughter because you are negligently naive if you believe that.
My daughter didn’t start wearing a bra until 12, despite breast buds. She just didn’t want to and was comfortable without. It was no big deal.
