But actually maybe it would be good after all. I think things in public schools would change pretty quickly. Whether those changes would be considered positive or negative by the OP I’m not sure.

It’s interesting that you apparently think anyone that posts online is equally qualified to be able to teach as someone that went through a college program and certification.

I think anybody who has ever said online that teachers are overpaid and lazy should be forced to substitute teach. And they have to write their own lesson plans since they are so convinced that they're better at my job.

Parent here. I don't want to be in a paid or a regular position. I'd like to just volunteer one day a month or so. I volunteer for dumb PTA stuff that doesn't help kids at all, whereas this would help. I have a minor in education if that helps.
Substitutes have to have a college degree, do training, get fingerprinted, etc. Parent volunteers do not, so they aren’t going to let them be with kids alone. You should definitely apply to be a substitute and just do one or two days a month. They are grateful for whatever they can get, I promise, and subs are much more helpful than parent volunteers.

Well, it’s super mean and ineffective because obviously she has lost control of her own emotions and kids don’t deserve to be subjected to that. I don’t think it’s something to get worked up over unless it happens all the time, but teachers (or sub) shouldn’t act like that.

If you sign up to be a sub, you indicate which days and locations you are available to sub. If that's only one day a month, then fine. And you can donate your pay if it bothers you.
Different poster. My kids are still in virtual. I take care of my kids and support them in school. Why should I have to volunteer in a school for free when you are too lazy to care for your kids or volunteer yourself. I’d tell all the kids to play games on their chromebooks in scilence the entire day.
