Sent them for my kids and was disappointed at the relatives who had kids I sent grad gifts who ignored them. It was nice though that several extended relatives didn't ignore and attended the online graduation.

Disagree. We love them in my family! Every night in December we sit on the couch under blankets with mugs of tea or cocoa and open the Advent calendar with the story and read that, then open the Advent calendar with chocolate and eat that (or opposite order), and then if any cards came in the mail, we read those. My kids definitely "know" their West Coast and overseas cousins who include those letters better than those that don't send them. It gives them something to talk about on phone calls, too.

Doesn’t everyone on the list know she’s graduating already? And those who don’t know where she’s going can find out with your annual Xmas card. Anyone you feel wants to know where she’s going asap…should be someone you’re close enough that you have already shared or can send a quick message.

Not all of us use the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child as an opportunity to brag. Some of us send warm greetings of the season and well-wishes for a Happy New Year with no insertion of our “big news.”

That's the only place I write anything about our family. No social media, no special announcements, just a couple sentence update on each kid on the back of our holiday card, which in this "look at me" phase of human history seems quite benign.

Why do you need to brag AT ALL? So tacky to do it in a holiday card.
